PEARLAND — Glenda Dawson HS took 17 swimmers to compete at the Region 6-4A swim meet. Out of 16 teams, the Dawson boys placed fourth while the girls placed 10th against some of the top 4A teams in the Houston area.
Individually, Bofeng Chen (pictured with Dawson coach Matthew Winton) placed first in the 200 IM for the gold medal and a ticket to the 4A state swim meet in Austin on February 26-27 at the Lee and Joe Jamail Swim Center at the University of Texas.
Those earning second place medals were Philip Bich in the 100 butterfly, Kyle Sullivan in 200 freestyle and Bofeng Chen, Daniel Salvador, Tyler Sprague and Kyle Sullivan in the 4 x 50 freestyle relay. Third place finishes go to Claire Zhang and Bofeng Chen.
