PEARLAND — The Dawson girls track team is on a roll as the Lady Eagles picked up their third straight victory in as many tries this season.
Dawson scored 148 points to finish in front of Clear Springs who had 106 points followed by Hightower (86), Nimitz (52), Pearland (47), Clear Creek (33), Willis (28), Angleton (25), Baytown Sterling (22), Dickinson (20), Houston Chavez (16), Beaumont Central (13), Eisenhower (9), Alvin (4), Texas City (4), Goose Creek Memorial (2), and Ball High (1).
Most of the schools were in Class 5A as Dawson continues to dominate most of the schools in this region. The Lady Eagles are the favorite to capture the District 24-4A crown.
The 1600 relay team of Kayla Jamerson, Brook Wilson, Alexus Morrow, and Ericka Taylor won that event in 4:13.
The 800 relay quartet of Albrina Wilson, Brittany Williams-White, Natevia Williams, and Tierreny Moody took first place in 1:49.
The 400 relay quartet of Wilson, Williams-White, Sidtrice Crichlow, and Williams finished in second place with a time of 50.01.
Those three relay events gave the Lady Eagles 56 points
Samantha Montgomery took first place in the pole vault at 10-0 while teammate Jennifer Blair finished in second place at 8-0.
Samantha Walker was second in the shot put (33-8 1/2) with Tamera White taking fourth place (30-3).
Jennifer Bush was second in the triple jump (35-7) with Bender taking third (35-3 1/2).
Bush was third in the high jump (5-0)
Karina Turner was second in the 100 high hurdles (15.6).
Erica Taylor was second in the 800 (2:30).
Porscha Thomas was second in the long jump (15-0 1/4).
Brook Wilson was fourth in the 400 meters (63.08).
Albrina Wilson was fourth in the 200 meters (27.3) while Thomas was a close sixth (27.5).
Taylor Wilson was fifth in the 300 intermediate hurdles (53.5) while Turner was sixth (53.6).
Natevia Williams was fourth in the 100 (12.51).
Mary Luster was fifth in the 3200 (12:50) and sixth in the 1600 meters (6:04).
