PEARLAND — Freshman Mary Luster led the Dawson Lady Eagles to a first-ever District 24-4A cross country team title. Luster captured the individual winning gold medal with a time of 13:16.64 while the Lady Eagles returned home with the team trophy.
Also finishing in the top 10 for Dawson were Ericka Taylor in fourth at 14:06.83; Allura Matz in fifth at 14:10.58; and Rachel Rhodes in seventh at 14:11.28.
Other Dawson runners included Elise Lebiga (17th - 15:03.96), Kahlise Arista (19th - 15:12.56), and Ashley Juarez (20th - 15:22.90).
Dawson won the meet with 30 points followed by Friendswood (39), Brazosport (78), and Angleton (79).
The Lady Eagles advance to the 4A regional cross country meet.
