Friendswood Rips Texas City 18-5

CLEAR LAKE — The Friendswood Mustangs left no doubt about this game as they ripped Texas City 18-5 to take the best-of-three series and advance to the Class 4A Region III semifinals. The 'Stangs will face either Magnolia or Nederland in the next round. Austin Fitzpatrick had a three-run homer to help lead the way. Michael Ruiz, Alex Anastas, and Cody Bergeson were also instrumental in helping Friendswood in the lopsided victory. The playoff schedule will be decided over the next couple of days.
