FRIENDSWOOD — The Texas Girls Coaches Association released the names of the girls who were named to the Class 4A All-State team and the Friendswood Lady Mustangs had two players named to the elite squad.
Junior outfielder Lindsey Davis and senior pitcher Kelly Smith were both honored for their outstanding 2010 season in helping the Lady 'Stangs make the playoffs.
Davis hit .375 with 26 RBIs, three doubles, two triples, 23 runs scored, and four home runs. Davis broke the FHS record for hits in a single season with 45. She was also 8-for-8 in stolen bases.
Smith posted a 21-8-1 record, an 0.95 ERA, 330 strikeouts, nine shutouts in 191 innings pitched. The righthander broke the single-season strikeout record she set last year in only two years inside the pitching circle. The previous strikeout mark was set over a four-year span.

Friendswood head coach Kevin Parr was named "Coach of the Year."
Smith, Carrie Flores, Davis, were All-District first-team picks.
