HOUSTON — The Friendswood Lady Mustangs basketball team is sitting on top of the Houston area rankings with a 17-2 record and they are also undefeated early in District 24-4A action.
Friendswood head coach Kirby Killingsworth saw her girls open up league action with a 47-46 win over Texas City and then knock off a strong Angleton team 34-26 as senior Annalisa Hall and Jill Bergeson both scored eight points to lead the team to a 2-0 district start.
The third straight win came very easy as Friendswood ran past Santa Fe 53-25 as Hall had 13 points and six steals to lead the charge, but she got plenty of help.
Kellsey Kaufhold had 12 points and eight rebounds, Bergeson had seven points and seven boards, and Taylor Wilson added nine points and six steals in the lopsided victory to move to 3-0.
