Lady Oilers trounce Lady Yellowjackets 87-21

There is no question that the Pearland Lady Oilers are beginning to hit their stride this season after a convincing 87-21 thrashing of the Alvin Lady Yellowjackets in District 23-6A action.

The defending district champions are flexing their muscles in each league game on the schedule. Pearland is now 23-4 on the season and 4-0 in district action.

The first quarter set the tone for the game as Pearland completely dominated the first eight minutes to lead 24-2.

The Lady Oilers continued their aggressive play on offense and defense by taking the second period 19-8 for a 43-10 lead at intermission.

Pearland took the third frame 30-11 for a 73-21 advantage and then closed out the game 14-0 in the fourth quarter to post the 87-21 final score.

Leading the offense was junior Eliece Perry who pumped in 20 points followed by senior La'Niah Thorton who tossed in 17 points, freshman A'zyua Blair fired in 15 points and Nyah Hardy added 10 points.

Freshman Shiloh Grays had six points to go with 13 rebounds, seven steals. Blair had five rebounds, five assists, and four steals.

As a team, Pearland hit 8-of-18 3-pointers while making 6-of-10 free throws.
