Pearland boys take out West Brook 3-1

PEARLAND — The Pearland boys won the District 22-5A soccer title with a 10-4 mark and now have advanced to the area round of the Class 5A Region III playoffs after a 3-1 win over Beaumont West Brook.

Brandon Martin led the offensive charge with a pair of goals while Alan Hernandez picked up the other goal. Gabriel Caballero, Nikhil Varghes, and Daniel Romero all had one assist each.

"We played a very good match against West Brook," Pearland head coach Tom Jones said. "Brandon Martin and Alan Hernandez controlled the midfield for us, they were the creativity for our attack. The defense was led by Luis Jaramillo, and Fermin Sanchez who shut down West Brook all night. As always we got an exceptional game from our Goalie Scott Robinson."
