PEARLAND — The Pearland West All-Stars are headed to Williamsport, PA. for another shot at the Little League World Series title.

Pearland is becoming a nationally-known household name in Little League circles and ESPN now knows how to pronounce Pearland during the coverage of our team. This will be the third time that a Pearland team has made the journey to Williamsport in recent years. Pearland was there in 2010 and 2014.

Pearland West has been on a roll and they may be poised to bring back the title after going 14-0 in winning district, sectional, state, and the SW region titles.

Pearland West faced North Boulder, Colorado in the championship game and came away with a lopsided 9-2 victory to punch their ticket to the LLWS. Pearland had beaten the same team earlier in the tournament 9-1 so confidence was high in beating them for a second time.

Pearland West got plenty of help as the team from Colorado issued six walks, six wild pitches, and committed three errors that allowed Pearland West to build a solid 7-1 lead after four frames.

The Pearlanders scored a pair of runs in the top of the second, one run in the third, four in the fourth, and two in the fifth to get the 9-2 win.

Colorado scored once in the bottom of the third and fourth innings, but they never threatened the kids from Pearland.

Leading at the plate was Carter Ostrom who was 2-for-4 with one run scored and two RBIs including a solo blast over the centerfield fence in the fourth inning to give Pearland a 4-1 cushion.

Other hitters who smashed doubles included Marcos Gutierrez, Lloyd Richards III, and Caleb Low.

Jarrett Tadlock, Zack Mack, and Ostrom each had a single with Isaac Garcia, Ben Gottfried, Gutierrez (2), Ostrom, Richards III (2), Low, and Conner DeLeon all scoring runs in the rout. Pearland stranded seven runners on base.

Tadlock had command on the mound for 3.1 innings allowing seven hits, two earned runs, no walks, and two strikeouts to pick up the win. Garcia stepped in relief, allowed no runs in 2.2 innings of work with no walks and four strikeouts.

Pearland West, the Southwest Champion, will face Wilshire Riverside Little League of Oregon, the Northwest Champion, in the opening round of the Little League World Series Thursday at 2 p.m. CT in Williamsport, Penn.
