LEAGUE CITY — The Pearland Lady Oilers cross country team has competed in four meets and they have returned home with four team first-place trophies.
The Lady Oilers ran in the Clear Creek Invitational against 16 teams at Walter Hall Park in League City. Pearland scored 51 points to beat Clear Lake (B) who scored 61 points. Clements was third with 97 points followed by Dawson (169), St. Johns (178), and Pasadena Memorial (220) while 10 other teams closed out the scoring.
Virginia Ney was the top finisher for Pearland with a time of 12:03 for second place while Courtney Mose was fifth in 12:20. Amanda Maniet was 10th in 12:35 followed by Kathylyn Lee (12:55 - 16th), Jia LeBlanc (12:57 -18th), Lucille Little (13:11 - 28th), and Brittany Crisp (13:32 - 36th).
"Our 1-5 split wasn’t as low as it usually is so we still definitely have some work to do," head coach Lori Ziegelmeyer said. " I’m extremely proud of this team. This is our fourth team 2-mile meet win in a row so the hard work is paying off."
