Dawson moves up in district rankings
Last year - the Dawson Lady Eagles came within one game of making the playoffs. They lost to Texas City in a one-match playoff. But that won't be the case this year as the Lady Eagles opened up the second round of league play with a 25-7, 25-19, 25-19 sweep over the Lady Stingarees while beating them both times in district.
Mary Johnston led the offense with six kills while Olivia Undersood dished out 14 assists.
"It is a great way to start out the second round of district with a win," head coach Lori McLaughlin said. "Seeking for good competition and moving up in the district ranking."
Dawson is now 19-16 overall and 5-3 in district while Texas City falls to 12-17 and 2-8 in league play.
Dawson sweeps Angleton
Dawson won their second straight match against Angleton to improve to 6-3 in district and 20-16 overall.
