ANGLETON — Pearland's Virginia Ney ran a 12:37 to win the Angleton Invitational cross country meet and the Lady Oilers posted their sixth straight win by claiming the team title with 34 points to finish in front of second-place Clements who had 44 points.
Brazoswood came in third with 87 points followed by Dawson (99) and Lamar (176). There were 13 teams who competed at the meet.
Pearland's Amanda Maniet was a close second with a time of 12:42 followed by Jia LeBlanc (4th - 12:59), Courtney Mose (13th - 13:27), Kathlyn Lee (14th - 13:29), Lucille Little (21st - 13:49), and Brittany Crisp (22nd - 13:51).
"Virginia had another awesome race and led the field for her second meet win in a row," head coach Lori Ziegelmeyer said. "This was the team's sixth straight win this season and I'm extremely proud of this group of outstanding young ladies."
Ney, Maniet, LeBlanc, Mose, and Lee all won medals for their effort.
Pearland will host the Pearland Invitational on Friday, October 23 at 2:00 p.m. at the PHS campus and The Rig.
