Pearland Lady Oilers

The Pearland Lady Oilers opened up the Class 6A Region III volleyball playoffs against the Friendswood Lady Mustangs and came away with a hard-fought 25-19, 21-25, 25-16, 25-16 win.

Murphy had a team-high 13 kills, while Zeyanna Dhalla did her best to steer the Lady Mustangs’ attack with 22 assists and two aces. Senior libero Jordan Pleasants led the Friendswood defense with 22 digs.

Pearland got a strong performance from Brooke Botkin who had 20 kills while Sarah Wright added 12. Grace Lee had 16 digs while Botkin had 12 digs and 16 assists and Katie Whitehead had 10 and 22 assists.

Pearland beats Atascocita

Pearland swept Atascocita in the area round of the 6A Region III playoffs with a solid 25-22, 25-15, 25-14 win.

Brooke Botkin led the offensive with 12 kills while Sam Costello had eight and Sarah Wright had six.

Grace Lee had 18 digs and Katie Whitehead added eight digs to go with her 18 assists. Botkin had 11 assists.

Dawson Lady Eagles

The Dawson Lady Eagles emerged victorious over the Clear Brook Lady Wolverines 25-14, 25-27, 25-14, 25-23 to advance to the area round of the 6A Region III volleyball playoffs.

Kynnedi Johnson led the offense with 17 kills while Jordyn Sinnette added 10. Jordan Brown led the defense with 29 digs but got a lot of help from Sinnette who had 16, Marisabel Torres who had 15, and Sarah Kirk who had 13 to go with her 27 assists.

Dawson sweeps GC Memorial

The Dawson Lady Eagles swept the Goose Creek Memorial Lady Patriots 25-17. 25-22. 25-18. Dawson will move on to the region quarterfinals.

Jordyn Sinnette led the offense with 14 kills while Kynnedi Johnson had 11. Sara Kirk served up four aces to go with her 21 assists. Jordan Brown had 14 digs while Sinnette had 11.
