PASADENA — The Pearland Lady Oilers brought home their second team trophy this season by winning the Pasadena Memorial cross country meet.
Pearland scored 48 points to nip district rival La Porte who finished second with 50 points. Clements was third with 87 points followed by Pasadena Memorial (102) and Dawson (149). There were 11 teams who competed in the meet.
Courtney Mose continues her outstanding season as she was the top finisher for the Lady Oilers with a second place time of 12:25. Virginia Ney was just a stride back in third place in 12:27.
Amanda Maniet finished sixth in 12:39 as all three received medals for their strong showing.
Jia LeBlanc came 18th with a time of 13:12 followed by Kathlyn Lee (19th - 13:14), Brittany Crisp (26th - 13:35), and Lucille Little (47th - 14:09).
"This team can really handle tough workouts and they are starting to pay off," coach Lori Ziegelmeyer said. "We still have a lot of work to do and these athletes are capable of so much more, so it will be a very competitive season."
The Lady O's will be at Willis on Thursday, September 24 at 4:15 p.m. at the Misty Meadows Girl Scout Camp.
