DAWSON LADY EAGLES
The Dawson Lady Eagles swept the Alief Hastings Lady Bears 3-0 in District 23-6A action. Dawson beat Hastings 25-18, 25-13, 25-18 as sophomore Kynnedi Johnson led the offense with 16 kills and two assists while Jordyn Sinnette added 12 and Kate Plummer pitched in seven kills.
Dawson improves to 27-8 overall and 6-0 as the district leader.
Dawson defeats Alief Taylor
Dawson continued their outstanding play by sweeping the Alief Taylor Lady Lions 25-8, 25-8, 25-8 to remain undefeated in league play.
Johnson led to offense with 18 kills and four assists while Jordyn Sinnette added five kills and Kate Plummer and Jalynn Finnie each added three kills.
PEARLAND LADY OILERS
Brooke Botkin had 21 kills as Pearland cruised past Brazoswood, 25-17, 25-13, 25-15 in a District 23-6A volleyball match last week.
Grace Lee had 17 digs and Katie Whitehead had 33 assists for Pearland, now 22-8 overall and 5-1 in district.
FRIENDSWOOD LADY MUSTANGS
The Clear Springs Chargers picked up a needed win to stay on pace in the district’s playoff race, rallying for a 25-16, 15-25, 22-25, 25-22, 15-9 win against the Friendswood Lady Mustangs.
Leaders for Friendswood in the tough defeat were Shannon Murphy (16 kills, two aces, 14 digs) and Jordan Pleasants (20 digs, two aces).
The loss left Friendswood 2-4 in league play.
