SANTA FE — The Pearland Lady Oilers cross country team have run in five meets this year and they have returned home with all five team trophies.
This past weekend - Pearland competed at the Santa Fe Invitational and won the meet with 21 points while Pearland Dawson finished in second place with 63 points. Clear Creek took third with 69 points followed by Clear Springs (69), and Manvel (159).
Virginia Ney won individual honors with a gold-medal performace of 12:50. Amanda Maniet was second with a time of 13:07 followed by Jia LeBlanc (3rd - 13:11), Courtney Mose (7th - 13:26), Kathlyn Lee (8th - 13:26), and Brittany Crisp (14th - 13:56) giving all six team members a medal.
"It was a very wet, muddy course so the times were very slow all the way around," head coach Lori Ziegelmeyer said. "It's always nice to get the team win and to have everyone medal was icing on the cake."
