Pearland Lady Oilers - 2014 District 22-6A Champions

The No. 9 state-ranked Pearland Lady Oiler swept the Alvin Lady Yellowjackets 25-22, 25-19, 25-17 to clinch the 2014 District 22-6A championship.

Brooke Botkin had 16 kills; 23 digs, three aces, and three blocks to lead the offensive attack.

Caroline Shecterle had 27 assists; one ace; and 13 digs. Chelsey Watts had 19 assists; two aces; and nine dig. Alex Aguilera had six kills, four aces, and 16 digs. Sam Costello had seven blocks and two kills whil

Cassidy Nussman had eight kills and three blocks. Hannah Ofczarzak had 10 kills and two blocks while Kylie Napoleon had 19 digs. Kaleigh Laitkep had two aces and seven digs.


Pearland defeats Dawson

Pearland defeated Dawson 25-11, 25-13, 12-25, 25-22. It was the third time this season that the two Pearland ISD schools have faced one another and the Lady Oilers swept all three matches.

Brooke Botkin had 20 kills followed by Hannah Ofczarzak (12) and Cassidy Nussman (9).

Alex Aguilera had eight aces while Brooke Botkin had three and Chelsey Watts added three.

Caroline Shecterle had 28 assists with Chelsey Watts adding 22.

Amanda Chapa had 33 digs and Botkin had 21.

"We played the first two games very well with low errors and a very strong serving game," Pearland head coach John Turner said. "Dawson started passing better in the third game and started running their middle attack which became very effective against us.

"In the fourth game, we were down 17-11 and made an incredible 14-5 run that was sparked by remarkable kills by Nussman and Botkin. It was a great team effort that is only going to make us stronger as we proceed to the playoffs."

Dawson Lady Eagles

The Dawson Lady Eagles were swept by the Manvel Lady Mavericks 25-23, 25-19, 25-22 to fall to 8-5 in district and 23-14 overall.

The Lady Eagles were led on offense by Amberly Jeane who had 14 kills while Alyssa Sinnette added 10.

Amelia Roden had 31 assists and 11 digs. Jordan Brown added 15 digs.
