PEARLAND — The Pearland Lady Oilers won the 5A Region III softball championship last year and advanced to the 5A state finals before losing a heartbreaker 1-0. Head coach Laneigh Clark and associate head coach Michele Hayden (standing) shared in the exciting moment when seniors (l-r) Megan Coronado (DePaul) and twins Megan and Brittany Marcet (Nicholls State) signed their letters-of-intent to continue their education and playing careers at the next level.
Pearland has the foundation to make another deep run this season with eight starters returning to the lineup. Coronado and Brittany Marcet were both named to the Texas Sports Writers Association All-State teams. Brittany was named as an NFCA first-team All-American.
