Each year the Friendswood High School swim team qualifies swimmers to compete at the University Scholastic League (UIL) state swim meet at the Lee & Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center on the UT campus in Austin.

Last year, Friendswood had several medal winners as the girls finished 5th in the state while the boys placed 14th. The girls scored 132 points behind state champion Boerne Champion (172 points) while the boys scored 41 points behind state champion Frisco Wakeland (153.5 points).
