Friendswood picked up their first victory of the 2025 football season with a 55-7 lopsided win over Fort Bend Willowridge.

The Mustangs dominated the first half to lead 48-7 at intermission and then they took the foot off the gas to add one more score in the second half to post the 55-7 final score.

Friendswood evens their season record at 1-1 while Willowridge falls to 0-2.

The Mustangs jumped out to a 20-0 first quarter lead as RB Tripp Bateman scored on a 1-yard run followed by a PAT by kicker Dylan Visintainer for a 7-0 lead.

Sophomore RB Charlie Moore increased the lead to 13-0 when he scored on a 12-yard scamper. The PAT was no good.

Friendswood closed out the opening 12 minutes on a 9-yard scoring pass from junior QB Josh Brister to junior WR AJ Parker to up the lead to 20-0 following the PAT.

The onslaught continued in the second period as Bateman scored his second touchdown on a 2-yard run to make the score 27-0.

Willowridge finally put together enough offense to finally score on a 5-yard scoring toss from QB Donovan Iles to WR Anthony Janice to cut the lead to 27-7 but that would be as close as the Eagles would get to the 'Stangs.

Three more scores would be posted on the scoreboard before the end of the first half as QB Brister would hit senior WR Gianni Gerami for a 68-yard scoring bomb, Bateman would add his third score on a 16-yard scoring run, and Brister would score on a 10-yard quarterback keeper to make the score 48-7 at intermission.

Moore would put the final touches on the game with a 1-yard plunge to post the 55-7 final score.

Brister was 8-of-12 passing for 169 yards and two TDs.

Bateman had 117 yards on 22 carries for three scores while Gerami had two catches for 78 yards and one score. Parker had four grabs for 63 yards and one TD.
