Dawson falls to Manvel; rallies past Dobie


PEARLAND — Dawson scored a run in the top of the third and the 1-0 score held up until the Manvel Mavericks scored three unanswered runs in the bottom of the sixth to pull out a 3-1 District 22-6A victory.

Jacob Rodgers doubled to left field, moved to third on a ground out, and scored on a single by Tristan Perez for a 1-0 Dawson lead.

Drake Rainer worked out of five tough spots for the Dawson on the mound. He pitched six innings and allowed two earned runs on six hits. Rainer faced his most difficult moment in the sixth inning when Manvel rallied past the Eagles.


Dawson 8 - Dobie 7

Chris Jefferson went 3-for-4 with two doubles, leading Dawson to an 8-7 win over Pasadena Dobie in a District 22-6A baseball game.

Dobie led 5-0 after the top of the third inning, but the Eagles scored twice in the third, once in the fourth, twice in the fifth, once in the sixth and two more times in the seventh to claim the win.

Tristan Perez doubled and knocked in a run for Dawson while teammate Zach Smith went 2-for-3 with an RBI.

The victory improved Dawson to 3-3 in league games.
