Kaufhold joins Friendswood elite

FRIENDSWOOD — Friendswood senior Kellsey Kaufhold has achieved a milestone in her career as a Lady Mustang as she did something that only two other Friendswood players had accomplished in their basketball careers.

Friendswood Hall of Famer and former Friendswood coach Dena Russo (FHS 1988) and Annalisa Hall (FHS 2010) both scored more than 1,000 points during their Friendswood basketball careers.

Kaufhold, who helped lead the Lady Mustangs to a 24-4A second-place finish and to the post-season for the 2010-2011 season, also surpassed the 1,000 point mark this year to join Russo and Hall in that elite category. A ball is going to be inscribed at the end of the season with her point total.
