Playoff run ends for both Manvel teams

It was fun while it lasted, but the Manvel boys and girls soccer teams both ended their playoff run with the boys going out first to Houston Austin 1-0 and then the girls dropping a 1-0 heart-breaker to district rival Texas City last Friday.

The Manvel boys and girls soccer teams did something for the first time in their young history. They both won to become the first soccer teams to win a playoff game.

Mistakes and turnovers proved to be the downfall for the Mavs as Brazosport scored 27 points off the miscues including three interceptions.

The Manvel HS football coaching staff is ready for another exciting season.
LADY MAVERICKS FALL TO HOUSTON WALTRIP — The Lady Mavs played two close games against Houston Waltrip, but the Lady Rams were able to get the key hits to sweep Manvel in their best-of-three series 1-0 and 4-1.
ATHLETIC SIGNINGS AT MANVEL — Over $700,000 in athletic scholarship monies has been awarded to 16 student-athletes at Manvel High School.
